This is a sad day for sure.
There are a lot of feelings right now......Nortre Dame Cathedral represents so much: Religion, Music, Architecture, History, etc. During the Medieval section of the contributions of the Notre Dame School (composers who worked in or near Nortre Dame Cathedral) during the Medieval Era of Music History and two particular names: Léonin and Pérotin. These two composers (as well as many others, for sure!!) were instrumental in the evolution of Western Music. Polyphony. So, here is Pérotin's "Sederunt Principes".

Sederunt principes, et adversum me loquebantur:
et iniqui persecunti sunt me.

Adjuva me, Domine Deus meus:
salvum me fac propter misericordiam tuam.

Rough Translation(based on Psalm 119:23, 86):
The princes sat, and spoke against me:
they have persecuted me unjustly.

Please help me, Lord my God:
Save me for your mercy's sake.Perotin: Sederunt Principes. Escuela de Notre Dame. Organum. Más información en el blog Musicnetmaterials.es En el Canal www.youtube.com/channel/UCwS...
