Mrs. Sofiko Tchetchelashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she began her violin carrier in the studio of professor Alla Laperashvili. She continued her studies in Tbilisi State Conservatory in the studio of professor Ernst Arakelov, and soon after completed her graduate studies in the studio of professor Rodam Jandieri.
In 2014, Mrs. Tchetchelashvili accepted graduate assistantship at Baylor University, where she served as a teaching assistant and the concertmaster of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, before completing another graduate degree in violin performance in the studio of Dr. Eka Gogichashvili.
Mrs. Tchetchelashvili was a winner of four National Competitions in Georgia, and became the recipient of two consecutive President’s Awards for the Excellence in Music.
Since 2016, Mrs. Tchetchelashvili teaches viola at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Beside her love for teaching, she remains very active solo and chamber concert violist in the United States and abroad.
